PHILOSOPHIES

Love is love is love

…is love is love is love. Full stop, there is absolutely no reason any couple should feel anything but loved and celebrated throughout their wedding planning process. Discrimination based on sexual orientation, gender identity, race, religion, or ethnicity will not be tolerated and we do the best we can to work alongside vendors who hold our same values. Regardless of whether or not you book our services, please always know that we will be a resource for you to find inclusive vendors, no matter where you wed.

Never throw the same party twice

Our goal is to create something new with every wedding. You are intrinsically your own, as is your love, so it would only make sense thats your flowers are as well!

What does that look like? To put it simply, it looks like creating rather than recreating. Using instagram and pinterest as tools to garner inspiration rather than a wish list of must haves. During your consultation, we will look through photos of all your favorite inspiration and then talk about what you like about them. Is it the colors? The texture, the way it moves.. Is it a specific flower? The vase it’s in? The shape? There are so many elements that go into a design that it is rarely a challenge to come up with something new to fit who you are as an individual and a couple! We will also discuss the things that make you “you” - a shade of lipstick you love, your favorite vacation spot, your love of clouds, the painting you saw hanging at the MET last summer - and figure out how to tastefully translate these things to florals.

We are imperfectly sustainable

It doesn’t always happen, but we do our best to value sustainability. This might look like sorting organic matter, recyclables (thank you, Ridwell!), trash, and rubber bands when processing. It might look like foraging for native foliage rather than purchasing farmed greenery. It looks like properly cleaning our buckets so that our water stays fresh as long as possible. Buying from local farms when possible. Not over ordering. Not using floral foam, a known micro plastic and carcinogen. Taking care of our inventory as to make it stretch as long as possible. Reusing and repurposing. Sending my clients home with flowers when possible! Events are hard work and while we value sustainability, we are not perfect & there will be times when we simply cannot be as sustainable as we would like due to post event fatigue. Rest and recovery is another key component to good designers!
